Matthew Charlton

Matt is the co-founder & director of Upright Property Group which has evolved since 2010. Matt is the managing director for UPG which was founded in late 2021 and is working on all of their property developments leads and operations in the foreseeable future. He is responsible for the growth of the business and how it operates from a day to day basis. His focus is on property development for his business with his 17 years’ experience in the industry it will provide him with the knowledge needs to make it a success.

Ben Wilson

Ben is the co-founder & director of Upright Construction with establishing the company in 2010. Ben is currently co-managing Upright Property Group with Matt and concentrating on their personal developments. Ben specialises on the operational side of the business, tendering with contractors for the construction and ensuring that everything goes well and that all staff are aware of their responsibilities before work is carried out.

Tom Ayres

Tom joined Upright in 2018 on the operations side of the business, working alongside our Director Ben. Bringing a wealth of experience with him Tom emerged himself in the business and has progressed to the role of Operations Director. Tom oversees managing all of our procurement requirements, assigning the correct sub-contractors to our ongoing projects and many other key aspects of the day to day running of our ongoing jobs.

Sky Schwartz

Sky joined Upright as a labourer in 2019, turning up with a dustpan and brush on his first day he made a great first impression! Showing a keen interest in developing his understanding of the building industry, Sky began working alongside the Managing Director, Matt. Starting by attending initial client meetings and assisting with pricing jobs with Matt. Sky quickly progressed and now represents Upright by attending prospective client meetings solo and providing accurate quotations for all potential projects.

Katie Woodhams

Katie joined Upright Construction in 2020. With 7 years of experience, she is now our finance director and manages all finance and accounting movements for Upright Property Group.

Callum Graham

Callum joined Upright in 2021 and set up the architectural wing of the Upright family. He is a fully qualified Architect and brings with him 9 years of experience in the residential sector, both private and commercial. He is the principal Architect and managing director of Upright Architects, alongside fellow directors Matt & Ben.

Callum has been providing innovative and creative design solutions to clients’ briefs, navigating the complex realm of planning approvals, and preparing technical drawing packages for building control approval and construction. He has a keen interest in American Football; he is the club chairman and defensive captain for the Sussex Thunder, and he also coaches the university team Sussex Saxons

Alex Wakeford

Alex has been a part of the Upright journey from the very start in 2010 . With 16 years of building and property development experience behind him his knowledge and ability to manage million pound plus projects, including new builds is invaluable to Upright Property Group's future development.

John Bennion

John has been part of the Upright team for 6 years. He started his career mastering a variety of trades giving him an extensive and well-rounded knowledge of the building industry. John has a calm and proactive approach when it comes to managing challenging projects, ensuring our customers visions are turned into reality.
